
Laurence Sklaw works in the Cooperative/Condominium Representation and General Litigation groups. He joined the firm after working for 15+ years as a partner in a a real estate and condominium boutique in Queens, New York.
Mr. Sklaw has drafted condominium and cooperative offering plans on behalf of Sponsors for communities ranging from two units to two hundred, and has represented Condominium Sponsors before the attorney general as well as in post-construction disputes with unit owners. He has litigated on behalf of Sponsors, Condominium Boards and unit owners on a wide variety of issues including Sponsors’ obligations to correct deficiencies in new construction, Sponsors’ obligations to sell units after acceptance of an offering plan, redress for a Board’s violation of By-Laws, and coop and condominium boards’ duty to address unit owners’ complaints. He has also represented litigants in all manner of real estate matters, including adverse possession, specific performance and actions to quiet title.
