“It’s Truly a Team, Even Though the Firm Focuses on a Bunch of Areas” – Jessie, Foreclosure Associate
My name is Jesse Banaras, and I’ve been with the firm since May of 2013. I started as a summer associate and now work in the firm’s foreclosure and title departments as an associate.
What I like most about my job is the type of cases I get to work on. They are challenging and exciting, and the firm’s culture is fantastic. It’s a very friendly environment, almost like a family, which makes it a comfortable and welcoming place to work. One of the great things about working here is the strong sense of teamwork. Even though the firm focuses on different areas within real estate law, everyone is always willing to help one another. For example, if I need assistance with something outside of foreclosure law, I know I can approach anyone, and they’ll be more than happy to help. That makes my job much easier and creates a great work environment.
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced was a foreclosure case that was highly contested. We moved for summary judgment on behalf of the lender, but the motion was initially denied because the court found we hadn’t proven compliance with a particular statute. We were then given the opportunity to reargue the court’s decision, and I had the chance to go to court with Adam and argue the motion. The motion was granted at the bench, and the court reversed its decision, which was a huge win for us.
My favorite part of being an attorney is my growth overall—both as a person and as a professional. Whether it’s improving my writing, research, or professionalism, the growth has been tremendous. It’s the little things combined with the bigger moments that make this role fulfilling.
What makes the firm unique is really a combination of factors: the cases we handle, the attorneys we work with, and the culture here. It’s the kind of place where a strong work ethic and an open, friendly attitude are highly valued, and that makes it a truly great place to work.
