Testimonials

“It was great! It was very professional but it was also fun at the same time.”

Interviewer:
“To begin, can you please state your name?”

Benjamin:
“Yeah, it’s Benjamin Martha.”

Interviewer:
“Could you tell me a little bit about yourself?”

Benjamin:
“Yep, I am a second-year student currently at New York Law School. I’ve been living here in New York for about five years. I went to Fordham for grad school, and yeah, I’ve been living here in the city for about two years now.”

Interviewer:
“And where are you currently going to school?”

Benjamin:
“Currently, I’m at New York Law School. I’m in my second year.”

Interviewer:
“What was your role here at Adam Leitman Bailey PC this past semester?”

Benjamin:
“I, along with another New York Law School student, was an extern here at Adam Leitman Bailey PC.”

Interviewer:
“What was it like working at Adam Leitman Bailey PC?”

Benjamin:
“It was great. Frankly, it was very professional, but also fun at the same time. The firm had an atmosphere where we got things done, but we all got along with each other. It was a very good experience overall.”

Interviewer:
“When did you start working here?”

Benjamin:
“I started in the last week of August, and my last week was the first week in December.”

Interviewer:
“How did you hear about ALBPC?”

Benjamin:
“Initially, it was through Professor Archer at New York Law School. She coordinates the externships, and I mentioned that I had an interest in real estate law. She recommended ALBPC because previous externs had great experiences here, and that was the case for me as well.”

Interviewer:
“Did you get to work with Adam Leitman Bailey directly?”

Benjamin:
“Yes, on a frequent basis. I remember that Adam mentioned throughout the semester that we should never feel shy to come into his office and chat with him. He was very friendly towards me and the other extern.”

Interviewer:
“What type of tasks did you perform?”

Benjamin:
“We did a wide range of things, whether it was helping prepare or attend bank closings with the transactional department, or helping a litigator serve a complaint upon a defendant. There were lots of different things we were exposed to throughout the semester. This was actually my first law firm experience, so it was great.”

Interviewer:
“What is the one thing or experience that will stand out to you from working here?”

Benjamin:
“There are actually two things I’d like to mention. First of all, I got the chance to incorporate Adam’s not-for-profit corporation, Building Foundations Incorporated. That was very rewarding for me personally because I had no idea how to do that before I came here. I researched it and handled it from start to finish, so it was a great process. Equally rewarding was being able to develop a legitimate writing sample. I wrote an article on rooftop antenna agreements and how to negotiate them between building owners and wireless antenna providers. That was a great learning experience, and it also produced a writing sample I can use in the future.”

Interviewer:
“What was the best aspect of working at Adam Leitman Bailey PC?”

Benjamin:
“The best aspect, personally for me, was just the atmosphere here in the office. I really loved the rapport that the attorneys had with one another and the respect and fun we all had together. It made it an enjoyable semester.”

Interviewer:
“Do you have any other comments or suggestions?”

Benjamin:
“Keep doing what you’re doing. It was a great experience, and I would recommend this to any student or potential client. It’s a great place.”

Interviewer:
“Thank you. Do we have your permission to post this on the website?”

Benjamin:
“Of course, yes.”

Interviewer:
“Thank you!”
