Testimonials

“I got an even better experience than I could have hoped for.”

Interviewer:
“Hello, can you introduce yourself?”

Charlene:
“My name is Charlene Soleimani, and I am the marketing intern at Adam Leitman Bailey for Summer 2014.”

Interviewer:
“Where are you from?”

Charlene:
“I’m from Great Neck, which is in Long Island, New York.”

Interviewer:
“And what do you study?”

Charlene:
“I’m studying corporate communications and marketing at Baruch College.”

Interviewer:
“What are your career goals?”

Charlene:
“Career-wise, I hope to be a lawyer in a couple of years, and I’m studying for my LSATs right now.”

Interviewer:
“That’s great! Did you get the experience you wanted out of this internship?”

Charlene:
“I came to the internship expecting something different, but I got an even better experience than I would’ve hoped for, one that I wouldn’t have gotten any other time in my life. This is going to be very useful in the future.”

Interviewer:
“What was your role at Adam Leitman Bailey?”

Charlene:
“So this summer, at Adam Leitman Bailey, the marketing interns focused on the creation of a new website. This website was supposed to be the best of any website out there. We worked on the migration process, moving content from the old website to the new one.”

Interviewer:
“What was your experience like?”

Charlene:
“The experience started with us being taught what to do from scratch. We weren’t sure what we were going to do, but after a while, we got the hang of it. We received training and tutorials. There was a lot of reading to do. I thought I wasn’t going to get it in the first week. I was totally clueless. I knew the end goal, but I didn’t know how to achieve it. After a lot of reading and learning, I understood so much from the process.”

Interviewer:
“How did the firm help you prepare for your tasks, and what types of tasks did you perform?”

Charlene:
“The firm helped a lot, especially Nicole. She helped us with any questions we had. If she noticed that a lot of interns were unclear on a topic, she arranged training. The training was really helpful. We received training from Nicole, Sheila, and a few other firms that came in to show us what to do. We also read books, watched YouTube videos, and did lots of other learning.”

Interviewer:
“What did you learn here?”

Charlene:
“I learned one of the most important skills of our time, which is how to create a website. We all know how big the internet is today. If at my next job someone asks me to build a website, I’ll know what to do. I learned how to handle WordPress, migrate content from one website to another, design and layout a website, and understand the difference between a mobile site and a regular website.”

Interviewer:
“What tasks did you enjoy the most?”

Charlene:
“While I loved the marketing side of the website, learning so much, my ultimate goal is to become a lawyer. After speaking with Nicole and Adam, they gave me the opportunity to go to court with Christopher Halligan. I loved it.”

Interviewer:
“What skills did you learn here at Adam Leitman Bailey that will be helpful to you in the future?”

Charlene:
“In the future, I know I will either be creating a website or optimizing one, whether it’s for myself or for another boss or supervisor. I know this experience will be incredibly useful. In today’s world, everyone wants someone who can make their website look great, and now I know how to do that.”

Interviewer:
“Do you think this internship will help you further your career?”

Charlene:
“100%. Yes, this internship will definitely help me further my career, not only with the connections and networking I’ve done here but also with the skills I’ve gained. I came from knowing nothing in this field to becoming a total expert, so yes.”

Interviewer:
“Do you have any comments for future interns or about working here in general?”

Charlene:
“For future interns, this is definitely a great environment to grow in because it’s not one of those huge firms where you’ll hardly be noticed. This firm is one where your boss, Adam, will be in direct contact with you every day. Nicole, if there’s something you don’t know, she won’t get mad. She’ll teach you from the beginning and encourage you to ask questions.”

Interviewer:
“Thank you for our meeting.”

Charlene:
“Thank you.”
