“A feeling of family is very much a part of the firm” – Tom Furst
I’m a partner in the Real Estate Transactional Group at Adam Lightman Bailey PC. Prior to joining the firm, I worked for many years at Hughes Hubbard, a prominent firm located in the same building. One day, while riding the elevator, I was introduced to Adam Bailey. We had a brief but pleasant conversation, and later, he invited me to his office.
When the time came for me to switch firms, I reached out to Adam. True to his no-nonsense approach, within a few days, I was part of the firm. It’s important to note that Adam wasn’t poaching talent from Hughes Hubbard, but rather, it turned out to be a mutually beneficial opportunity for both firms.
The term “work culture” is often a euphemism for how professionally satisfying it is to practice law at a particular place. It encompasses a number of factors: the challenge and variety of work, the degree to which good work is appreciated by clients and colleagues, the personalities of those you work with, the work conditions, the balance between professional and personal life, and the opportunities for advancement.
For me, ALBPC scores 10+ in every one of these areas. The camaraderie among colleagues goes beyond just working on legal matters; we genuinely take an interest in how our colleagues are managing personally. This sense of family and support is central to the firm.
It’s impossible to talk about ALBPC without mentioning our exceptional and inspiring leader. The firm was built by Adam Lightman Bailey, whose personality, tireless drive, generosity of spirit, and devotion to client success set the tone for everything we do. We all try to emulate these values in our work and client relationships.
Adam’s dedication to the firm’s success is undeniable, and it’s inspiring to work alongside him as he nurtures client relationships with a level of respect and loyalty that defines the firm’s culture. While I’ve worked at many good firms, ALBPC stands out as the best of the bunch by far.
