These Experiences Have Been So Gratifying, And I Am So Thankful To Have Had The Opportunity To Really Make A Difference.
Hi Adam,
I hope you are enjoying the new year so far! As I am now entering my final semester as an undergraduate, I have been reflecting on my years at Rutgers and how much your support has meant to me as a mentor and constant supporter these past years. I have really been inspired by your dedication to nonprofit work, and I wanted to update you on my own involvement in a nonprofit organization called Kier’s Kidz.
I am not sure if I mentioned it before, but two years ago, I became an advisory board member of Kier’s Kidz, a local nonprofit that helps young adults and children with cancer in New Jersey. I have worked with several other students at Rutgers to establish our organization, host educational events for students, and connect with families of children with cancer (I have attached the organization’s 2019 updates). These experiences have been so gratifying, and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to really make a difference.
I can’t believe it was almost four years ago that you told me I would be receiving the Raymond “Hap” Harrison scholarship. As I am now looking to apply to medical schools and applying for jobs for my hap year, I am especially thankful to know that I have this support through the process. Like I mentioned last time we met, I am currently looking for clinical research positions in New York for my hap year, and I would appreciate any advice you can offer! Thanks again for everything, and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Best,
