Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C. Announces the Dustin Joseph Friedland Scholarship
As a law firm, we understand that we have a duty to help people. We understand that we have certain skills and powers that allow us to positively affect lives. We understand that these gifts in intellect and persuasion must also be used to better our community and its children. Ergo, we give back to our community in many ways including youth mentoring, contributing to local charities, pro bono work, awarding college scholarships and much more. Many years ago, Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C. founded Building Foundations to assist students of all ages in pursuing their professional and personal dreams by providing financing, scholarships, education, internships, real life experience and other tools to reach these dreams. Last year, in the name of the Raymond “Hap” Harrison Scholarships, we provided scholarships to nine students.
This year we have also inaugurated the Dustin Joseph Friedland Memorial Scholarship. When Dustin was taken from us last year, the firm posted a reward for information leading to the capture and conviction of his assailants. Those funds having no claimant, the firm is adding to them, in order to allow an inner-city high school senior to receive a memorial college scholarship of $10,000 per year to pursue studies that will render honor to Dustin’s name and memory. We will encourage each year’s Friedland Scholar to personify the values Dustin so completely represented, to makes a positive contribution to society, to live honorably with one’s fellow members of the community, and to enhance the well-being of society itself.
Dustin’s wife, Jamie Schare Friedland, an associate of our firm, shall select each year’s Friedland Scholar and provide mentorship through the recipient’s college years.
