“This will help my career in the future. It’ll make me stand out.”
Hello. I’m Spencer Wolfe.
Where are you from?
Manhattan, New York.
Where do you study?
Boston University.
What are your goals career-wise?
Originally, I wanted to study in the finance field, but after this internship at Adam Leitman Bailey, in exploring marketing. I’ve possibly been wanting to go into that sort of career.
Did you get the experience you wanted out of this internship?
Absolutely. Coming to this firm, on my first day, I thought this internship would comprise of making photocopies, getting coffee for the attorneys, shredding papers, but in the end, it was actually a very important role I played here at this firm. I would say it exceeded my expectations.
What was your role at Adam Leitman Bailey?
I was a marketing intern.
What was your experience like?
I gained a lot of knowledge from this experience. It taught me to mature, how the real world works.
What kind of tasks did you perform here?
They varied. One task of mine, for example, would be migrating content, which would, so we’re building a new, we were building a new website for the firm, so we had to migrate all the old content from the old website to the new one. So we would have to know how to, also how that relates to marketing is we would have to know how to market each piece of content correctly so it would come up on Google on the first or a second slot, hopefully the first. A second thing I would do at Adam Leitman Bailey would be taking photos for the new website and taking headshots of all the attorneys and paralegals and executive staff. Here, I learned very well how to use Photoshop, InDesign, and Excel, as well, so all very good stuff for what I possibly want to go into.
Definitely. So, how did the firm help you prepare for such tasks?
I came in with possibly zero knowledge on how to do this sort of thing, maybe more the creative stuff I had some knowledge in that field, but coming here when it comes to marketing I mean I needed to know what marketing really was before I came to Adam Leitman Bailey. My supervisor Nicole is possibly the best supervisor I could ask for. She taught us the whole way, no matter how little or how much we knew, and it’s just it was a great experience. Now I know everything that, you know, everything, much more than an average 19-year-old.
Which tasks would you say you enjoyed the most?
Probably more of the creative side of my tasks. I was one of the lucky interns because I had some basic knowledge on Photoshop and how to use a camera well before I came to this internship So I got to use those skills in my internship now and take photos of court houses, the attorneys, the law firm, maybe create a video or two, and that was a lot of fun. It made every day, you know, very exciting, and the job go very fast and the day go by very fast, so that was really enjoyable.
Who did you work with the most?
Probably my supervisor, Nicole, and like I said, I couldn’t have asked for somebody to work with more than Nicole.
What skill do you think you learned at Adam Leitman Bailey that you think will be helpful to you in the future?
Well, like I was saying, the technological side of it, with migrating content through the computer, Excel, Photoshop, all of these things are just, you know, they’re replacing old, old ways of doing things yeah. So out of college, if I have this on my resume and I do have at least a basic knowledge of how to do these things, it’ll help me immensely in the future.
Do you think this internship will help you in your career?
100%. I mean, I don’t know. I can’t really answer it any other way. It just absolutely this will help my career in the future. It’ll give me, it’ll make me stand out over other kids my age.
What would you say is your most memorable moment at Adam Leitman Bailey?
The most memorable moment honestly meeting the people at this firm. It’s going to be extremely difficult to leave this place. It really doesn’t matter what you’re doing as long as you’re surrounded by people that you like. Here, everybody treats you the same. Everybody is very nice, very like easygoing, and it’s just that. That is possibly going to be my most resonating memory throughout the whole internship.
Thank you.
