“Thank you so much Adam for your belief in me and all the interns that come through here” – Past Raymond ‘Hap’ Harrison Scholarship Winners

Victoria Bossone:
Hi, my name is Victoria Bossone, and I was the intern at Adam Leitman Bailey PC for the summer of 2021. I am currently a student at MTH University, going into my junior year studying speech-language pathology.

Asli Celik:
Hi, I’m Asli Celik. I was an intern at ALBPC in the summer of 2023, and I’ll be entering my freshman year this fall at Montclair State University as a jurisprudence major.

Kelly Kim:
Hi, my name is Kelly Kim, and I was an intern here at ALBPC in the summer of 2022. I am a rising sophomore and a student at the College of New Jersey in the five-year master’s program for English secondary and special education, with a minor in Spanish.

Tamia Hackworth:
Hi, my name is Tamia Hackworth, and I was an intern at Adam Leitman Bailey PC in the summer of 2017. I’m currently a rising third-year law student at Northeastern University.

My summer internship experience was a bit unique since it happened right after the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Coming into New York City with masks on, after spending months on end at home, was surreal. Walking into this big, beautiful building and talking to so many intelligent people was an amazing experience.

During my internship, I worked with the marketing team and the paralegals. I had the chance to exercise creativity I didn’t even know would be applicable in a real estate law firm. This experience not only taught me about the field of law but also about myself, the city, and so many life lessons I still carry with me.

The Raymond “Hap” Harrison Scholarship completely changed my life. College is expensive, and this scholarship gave my parents and me the financial security to pursue a career I’m passionate about.

Asli Celik:
I loved coming to the office every day during my internship. It felt like an adventure, learning something new and trying different things. I worked with the attorneys, paralegals, and marketing department, learning lessons that will help me in so many areas of life.

This experience gave me exposure to fields I hadn’t considered before, and it solidified my desire to pursue law. I was nervous about whether my skills matched the work, but this internship gave me confidence and invaluable knowledge about real estate law.

The scholarship has also been a huge help in my educational journey. It provided me with financial security, allowing me to focus on my studies and build a foundation for my future.

Kelly Kim:
This internship was my first office job—my “big girl” job—and it ignited my passion for law. Although I don’t plan to pursue real estate law, I am now in law school and will (God willing) become an attorney next year.

I interned during my senior year and the summer, taking the train from Harlem to the office. It was amazing to work with the attorneys, paralegals, and staff. I’m so grateful for the scholarship—it allowed me to graduate undergrad debt-free, which has been incredibly helpful as I pursue law school.

Tamia Hackworth:
I want to thank Adam Leitman Bailey for this incredible opportunity. Even though my internship was years ago, I hold the experience close to my heart. Adam’s guidance and wit have taught me so much, not just as a lawyer but as a person.

Asli Celik:
I also want to thank Adam. This experience taught me so much and opened my eyes to new possibilities. His advice and character have left a lasting impression on me. The scholarship gave me the financial security to attend my dream college, make new friends, and join organizations that have enriched my life.
