New Lease Forms That Entail the New Tenant Laws (Forms 56, 57, 86, and 102)
For over a decade the Blumberg/Excelsior leases authored by Adam Leitman Bailey and Dov Treiman, partners at Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C., have provided cutting edge protection and innovation in maximizing landlord’s rights in a variety of rentals.
The new landlord-tenants laws passed in the summer of 2019 sent the entire industry into a spiral. The entire package of laws included provisions that outlawed traditional lease provisions while making previously innocuous provisions dangerous to landlords. These included provisions related to late fees, attorneys’ fees, and security deposits, amongst other things.
Adam Leitman Bailey and Dov Treiman immediately sprang into action to update the leases so as to comply with the new laws, taking the opportunity to introduce some new features and keep these leases from being littered with the minefields that most other publisher’s leases may include.
