Jessie D. Bonaros is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Ms. Bonaros received her Juris Doctorate from New York Law School in May 2014, cum laude, where she was a member of the New York Law School Law Review, and was a John Marshall Harlan Scholar.
Ms. Bonaros joined the firm in 2013 as a member of the Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C. summer associate program specifically to be trained in prosecuting residential mortgage foreclosure proceedings and title insurance cases and she continues foreclosure and title law as an associate in the Foreclosure and Title Groups. Ms. Bonaros represents many of the largest banks in the world, both directly and with the most prominent mortgage loan servicing companies. She handles the foreclosure proceeding as early as ensuring proper service of the §1304 Ninety Day Notice through to claiming and obtaining surplus funds.
Ms. Bonaros’ specific expertise lies in defeating the cumbersome and highly technical affirmative defenses and counterclaims often asserted by borrowers in foreclosure proceedings.
